Donations & Sponsorships
Let’s build a stronger, happier community, together.
Chances Prince Rupert is proud to have supported businesses, charities, and organizations doing incredible work in our community for years. Now, we want to open the floor to you to find out where we should spend our money. There are three, primary ways we support organizations here in Prince Rupert and the surrounding area. Read on to find out more about each way we offer funding, and how you can get a piece of the action.
Unclaimed-Found Money
Did you know you’ve helped us contribute directly to local organizations? Probably more often than you think.
More often than you would think, people leave tickets in machines or cash on the casino floor. If no one claims their ticket after 90 days, we hold it in our fund. It’s usually a few dollars or cents here and there, but it adds up. Not only that, but even if you can prove it is your missing ticket or money after the 90 days, we’ll still get it back to you.
Every cent from our Unclaimed -Found Money Fund goes straight into the hands of registered charity in Prince Rupert that could use a little luck. You can see examples of our most recent donations from this fund on our community page.

Sponsorships
We love sponsoring registered charities that directly impact our community. As a 19+ establishment, we support non-profits that benefit local families and especially Indigenous communities.
Some of the organizations we currently sponsor, include:
Giving Back to BC & Local Communities
Every year, commercial gaming facilities, through BCLC, give back part of the revenue generated by gambling to the province of BC. That money is distributed throughout the province in a variety of ways, including to the local governments of host cities, like Prince Rupert, and BC’s Gaming Grants Program.
Support for Host Cities
Prince Rupert has received back millions in gambling revenue since we opened our doors at Chances Prince Rupert in 2007. And each year, the City of Prince Rupert allocates that money to support community programs like the Lester Centre of the Arts, Prince Rupert Arts Council, and Museum of Northern BC in addition to funding assorted infrastructure improvements and ongoing capital projects.
See the most recent Community Impact Report for Prince Rupert from BCLC to learn about how the City is using this money.
BC Gaming Grants
As a commercial gambling facility in BC, part of our revenue goes towards the Community Gaming Grants Program, which provides $140 million dollars annually to not-for-profit organizations across BC.
Funding is allocated based on the demonstrated size, scope, and overall direct community benefit of each program, but most non-profits, who can demonstrate financial need may apply, so long as the meet the eligibility criteria.
If you’re interested in receiving BC Gaming Grants for your organization, you can apply on BC Government Website.
